Allocation procedure
As one of the first officially approved registrars of Eurid, we have experienced the hype surrounding the first allocation of eu domains from the beginning.
In order to ensure that the holders of trademark and name rights could apply for domains for registration, the allocation was divided into several phases. In the two early sunrise phases, rights holders had the opportunity to apply for domains in advance. In the subsequent landrush phase, all other available domains could then be applied for by anyone. The principle - first-come-first-served - was of particular importance here.
Numerous investors have concentrated on the registration of generic terms in the course of the initial allocation of the TLD eu in order to project and/or market them after successful allocation.
