The introduction of eu domains brought movement, especially in the European domain market. Several hundred registrars applied for registration. The demand for generic domains in particular was enormous. As a result, high-quality domains were registered immediately after release.
The greatest interest was directed at domains that were applied for during the sunrise periods but were ultimately not allocated to the respective applicants because they did not meet the requirements. These domains were later allocated in a first-come-first-served procedure.
